The sixth category for classifying controlled substances (drugs) based on acceptable medical use and potential for abuse, which exists in North Carolina statute but not federally. The only schedule VI drugs are marijuana and its main psychoactive component, CBD. These drugs are considered low potential for abuse but no accepted medical use.
